President’s Letter 2016

Letter from the President…

Hello Bulldog fans! Welcome to the 2016 Midland High football season.  We are deeply honored  to serve as your Midland High Football Booster Club Presidents this year.  We are excited to be a part of a program steeped in tradition, teaming with loyal fans, and supported by generous community members dedicated to the development of MHS student athletes.

We would first like to thank each and every advertiser in this year’s media guide and ask our fans to patronize the businesses  that are supporting our Bulldog student athletes.  We would like to acknowledge the 2016 Midland High Football Booster Club members who so freely give of their time, resources and self to insure that the Bulldog team has the equipment, training and support they need to be successful on and off the field.  We want to recognize the coaching staff and their families for the sacrifice each makes to lead these young student athletes through a demanding off-season program that prepares the players for Friday nights.  We want to appreciate all administrators, teachers, parents, relatives and fans for their unwavering support.  Finally, we want to praise each and every Bulldog student athlete who has dedicated himself to the success of the 2016 football season.  These young men have been training all year in preparation for an exciting and successful 2016 campaign; The Bite is Back!

New non-district scheduling and biennial UIL district realignment mean the Bulldogs will be taking the “Bite” to new competition this season.  After opening with three skilled El Paso squads, the Bulldogs will face two tough metroplex teams: DeSoto and Keller. TheBulldogs host DeSoto, ranked fourth in the state in preseason ratings and play the Indians at Keller ISD Complex.  District 2-6A expands this year to include Wolfforth Frenship and Amarillo Tascosa.  The Bulldogs welcome the Tigers and Rebels to the district. These new opponents coupled with our long time district rivals will challenge the Bulldogs and prepare them for a deep playoff run.

The entire MHS Football Booster Club has also been gearing up for the  2016 campaign and if you are not already a member, we invite you to join us. We meet Tuesday evenings during the season at 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church.  The meetings are a great place to fellowship with other Bulldog fans and gain insight into all aspects of MHS football.

Thanks again for supporting Midland High Bulldog football and being a part of The Bite is Back! We look forward to cheering with you in the stands on Friday nights!

Go Dawgs!
