Tim Anuszkiewicz, Head Coach
Coach “A-Z” is beginning his fifteenth season at Midland High and his third as the Head Football Coach following the retirement of Coach Yenzer. Coach Anuszkiewicz is a graduate of Canyon High School and a 1992 graduate of West Texas A&M University where he lettered in football for three seasons. Coach A-Z served Midland High Football as the Defensive Coordinator from 2002 – 2005 and 2012 – 2016.
He has also coached safeties, linebackers, receivers and served as the special team’s coordinator. Other coaching stops have included Borger as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach from 2006 – 2009. Coach A-Z also has coaching stops as Defensive Coordinator at Canyon High School, Assistant Coaching position at Hereford High School, Friona High School and Bonham Junior High School.
Coach Anuszkiewicz has recently been elected to serve as a Region IV Director for the Texas High School Coaches Association by his peers. Coach Anuszkiewicz’s wife of 28 years, Crystal, is a teacher at Carver Center. They have 3 children. Jordan is married to Dillon Hilton and they reside in Beaver County, Oklahoma. They have one daughter, Harper Leigh. Caleigh Anuszkiewicz is a junior at West Texas A&M University studying Elementary Education, and Jackson Anuszkiewicz will be a freshmen at Texas A&M University.
Todd Pearson, Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach
Coach Pearson is beginning his third season at Midland High. He is a graduate of Perryton High School, and West Texas State University.
Previous coaching stops include Kress, Canyon, Amarillo High, Kermit, Cypress Falls, Lubbock Monterey, and Lee. Coach Pearson and his wife Kathy, have three children, Tyler, a Texas State graduate, Trent a Sul Ross State graduate, and Kinzi a freshman at Texas State.
Ector Lopez, Offensive Coordinator
Coach Lopez has coached in Midland for eighteen years. He begins his twelfth year at Midland High as the new Offensive Coordinator. Ector graduated from Angelo State University in 2001. Coach Lopez also is the Bulldogs’ Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach. His wife, Amanda, is the Head Volleyball Coach at Midland High, as well as a Spanish teacher. They have a son, Caleb, a sophomore at Midland College.
Jeff Streun, Defensive Coordinator
Coach Streun starts his fourteenth year at MHS in a new position as Defensive Coordinator for the Bulldogs. He attended Hereford High School in 1984, and went on to earn a degree in Math Education from West Texas State University. Coach Streun began his coaching career in McLean, Texas. Coach Streun has also coached in Denver City, Midland-Greenwood, and in Ozona where he was the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director. Coach Streun’s wife, Becky, is employed at Zeno Office Solutions. They have two children, Hunter, a senior at West Texas State University and Jayci, a senior at Midland High School.
Mike Bettenhausen, Defensive Tackle Coach
Coach Bettenhausen is in his sixth season for the Bulldogs. “Coach Bett”, as he is affectionately known, is also the Powerlifting coach at Midland High. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas in 2003. He earned degrees in both Exercise and Sports Sciences and History at Texas Tech University while playing on the defensive line as a walk-on from 2003-2008. After graduation from Texas Tech, he served on the coaching staff as a student-assistant until the spring of 2009. Prior to coming to Midland, Coach B was the defensive line and tight end coach in Runge, Texas in 2011 and was the offensive line coach in Crockett, Texas from 2012-2013.
Mike Sadler, Varsity Receivers Coach
Coach Sadler began his career in Odessa. Mike coached at Ector High School, Hood Jr. High School and at Permian High School. He has also coached at Euless Trinity High School in Euless TX, Pecos High School and Sharpstown High School in Houston. Mike came to Midland and coached at Midland High from 2001-2007. Mike’s wife, Margaret, works at Manor Park Rehabilitation Care in the Physical Therapy Department. They have one daughter Angelica. She and her husband, Ty Williams, have a daughter, Zaylynn, and a son, Karter.
Mason Munguia, Assistant Offensive Line Coach
Coach Munguia begins his first season with the Bulldogs. Along with football, Coach Mungia will also be an Assistant Baseball Coach. He has previously coached at Odessa High School for the past 4 years, and 2 years at Midland Christian before that. Coach Munguia played baseball at Odessa College and graduated from the University of Texas at the Permian Basin in 2013
with a bachelor’s degree in History. He has been married
to his wife Lani for 2 years and they are expecting their 1st child in August.
