Hondo Schneider
Hondo Schneider graduated from Texas Tech University with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sports Medicine. He has served as athletic trainer for the San Francisco 49ers, the USFL Houston Gamblers, Howard Payne University, Copperas Cove High School and Midland Lee High School. This is Hondo’s second stint at MHS. Hondo serves on the UIL Medical Advisory Committee. His bride’s name is Marla. They have two children – a daughter Jessica, 18, attending Texas Tech University, and a son Brandt, 9.

John C. Dean, M.D.

Dr. John Dean
Dr. John Dean is an honor graduate of Midland High School, Texas A&M, and Texas A&M Medical School. He did his internship at Methodist Hospital in Houston and his residence work at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. He has completed a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Orthroscopy in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his practice in Midland in 1993 and works with athletes throughout the year. He and his wife Deborah have three children, Michelle, Afton, and McKenzie.
In Memoriam
Thurston Dean, M.D.
Dr. Thurston Dean's hard work and dedication to high school athletes was greatly appreciated by all the athletes in Midland and by the Texas High School Coaches Association. He received the Distinguished Service Award in August 1992. This is the highest honor bestowed by the coaches' Association to one outside the coaching profession. Besides the Bulldogs, many schools in West Texas area used Dr. dean as their team orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Dean is fondly remembered and his service and dedication appreciated.
Brent Huckabay, D.D.S
Team Dentist
Local dentist Brent Huckabay grew up in Midland. Dr. Huckabay graduated from Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas Dental School in Houston. For over twenty years, he has practiced dentistry in Midland. He and his wife Suzanne have three children: Grant, Gretchen and Gabe.
Shane Christopher
Team Chaplain
Shane Christopher joins the Bulldogs this year as the Team Chaplain. Shane graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BA in Speech Communication. He moved to Midland from Knoxville, Tennessee in 2004 to work for Young Life (an inter-denominational out-reach for teens), and is now the Area Director. He is a Core Group Leader for 18-2-24 Community Bible Study. Shane has worked with youth for 13 years. Shane and his wife Kimberly have one son, Daniel. Shane is proud to support Midland High School Football. He says “West Texas has brought back my love for high school football!!!”.
